EmaCure® – Innovative, personalized wound healing therapy

Chronic wounds can develop as a result of insufficient supply of oxygen and nutrients to the surrounding tissue. Poor circulation and systemic illness such as diabetes or peripheral artery disease are some of the factors that contribute to chronic wounds and inhibit wound healing. These wounds are essentially hypoxic, meaning that their tissue is deprived of oxygen, which otherwise enables a fast regeneration. A wound in a healthy person can also be hypoxic but to a lesser degree. This hypoxia however can lead to the formation of new blood vessels, causing an increase in oxygen transportation and thus enabling the wound to heal. The cells in chronic wounds fail to transmit the necessary signals to create new blood vessels.

EmaCure®, an innovative, personalized wound-healing therapy, was developed by an interdisciplinary team of scientists, doctors, engineers and specialists for translational therapy to solve this problem. EmaCure® works by taking blood from the patient and then processing it in a cell culture in hypoxic conditions to stimulate a wound. In this cell culture, mediators and biologic factors for the formation of new blood vessel are emitted. As it’s the patient’s own blood, all emitted factors are individual and patient-specific. EmaCure® can then be applied locally to a wound or it can be injected in accordance with a patient-specific individualized therapy. We have helped many patients with ulcera and chronic wounds using EmaCure® with excellent results.

We will gladly inform you personally of all therapy options available during our consultation hours.
