Center for Hand Surgery in Munich

Surgery of the hand, the lower arm and elbow is one of the technically most demanding fields of surgery due to its complex interaction of nerves, blood vessels, muscles, tendons and articulations. Therefore highly trained specialists need to perform the surgical procedures. As one of the few selected centers in Germany, we are certified as Hand Trauma Center by the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH). The head of our Hand Surgery Department is Dr. Haydar Kükrek.

We combine many years of experience and knowledge in treating all entities and types of injury of the hand. As a highly specialized center for hand surgery in Munich we treat all types of injury, from small problems to highly complex trauma, including complete amputations. Furthermore we offer the whole spectrum of elective hand surgery. We treat nerve compression syndromes, Dupuytren’s contracture, correct pain syndromes due to false positions in articulations, offer treatments for arthrosis including prosthesis implantation as well as new cell therapies and perform motoric replacement operations to reconstruct function after severe trauma. A special field of our interest includes the treatment of the painful wrist. The wrist is the most complex articulation in the human body, which makes it difficult to correctly diagnose any cause of pain in this area. Damage of the scapholunate ligament (SL-ligament) or non-union fractures of the scaphoid result in pain and loss of function and should be treated by experienced specialists only.

As a traditional center for hand surgery in Munich with years of experience we also treat patients after failed primary treatments. We are very well equipped with different and innovative tools to reconstruct form and function of the hand after treatment failure.
