Privacy Notice

The Klinikum rechts der Isar takes the protection of your personal data seriously.  Personal data collected during visits to our website are processed in accordance with the German general laws governing data protection and privacy with particular compliance to the German Bavarian Data Protection Act (hereinafter “BayDSG”) and the German TMG.

The following provisions hereafter contain information on the nature, extent and purpose of the recording, processing and the use of your personal data.


Data Logging  

The web server is operated by the University Hospital’s (Klinikum rechts der Isar) own data center located at Ismaninger Strasse 22, 81675 Munich.  Data will be treated in accordance with the German general laws governing data protection and privacy with particular compliance to the BayDSG and TMG.

The following provisions contain information on the nature, extent and purpose of the recording, processing and the use of your personal data.  All information herein is also available at any time on our website.



Accessing Information on Websites


With every access of a user to our website, our web server will temporarily save the following information in our log file:

°  IP address of the accessing computer

°  Date and time of the access

°  Name, URL and volume of data transmitted

°  Access status (for example, transmission of requested file, file not found)

°  Data of browser and operating system (provided it is transmitted by the web browser)

°  Websites from which our site was accessed

°  The processing of the data in the log file shall be as follows:

    - The log entries will be evaluated continuously to detect attacks on the web server and in order to react accordingly

    -  Log entries older than a month will be deleted

    -  Log entries will only be used for the purpose of collecting access statistics.  The utilized software will be operated locally by the University Hospital’s data center.

The IP addresses identified by the log entries will not be compiled together with the web browser, so that the data center has no inference to the identity of a specific individual.  We do not utilize any form of user tracking.


Use and Disclosure of Personal Data

The use of our website is possible without providing personal information.  However, in order to properly carry out services such as answering questions to inquiries or sending out newsletters, the collection of personal data will be necessary.  Only thedata necessary to carry out a specific purpose will be collected. 

The personal data collected will not be disseminated or passed on to third parties, except where we are legally bound by law to do so or where the disclosure of such data is deemed necessary in order to take legal action against infringements to our network infrastructure.

We hereby expressly object to the use of contact data by a third party to solicit advertising and information material.  The operators of these web pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event that unsolicited advertising material is sent to us, including via spam emails.




Email Security

When you send us an e-mail, its contents and your e-mail address will be used solely for the purposes of corresponding with you.  Please note that there may be security risks when data are transmitted in the internet and therefore, a full-proof security protection of data from third party access cannot be guaranteed.



Our data center stores so-called cookies on your hard drive which are valid only for the duration of a single session.  Cookies are small text files that websites put on your computer to store information about you and your preferences.  We use cookies to improve our website by making it user-friendly and effective.  Cookies do not damage your computer and contain no viruses.  Should you prefer however not to have your cookies stored, you can disable them by re-setting your browser.


Your Rights

You have the right to receive information from us about your stored personal data.  You also have the right to block or delete any personal data or to have inaccurate data corrected.  If you would like to exercise this right, please make the request in writing.



Our websites may contain links to websites of other organizations and/or private persons.  We have no influence over the design and contents of other websites and we cannot control how the suppliers of the linked websites handle your information. 


Validity and Effectiveness

Your use of our web server constitutes consent with the storing and utilization of your data as described herein.   This data protection notice is effective immediately and supersedes any and all previous notices.  In the course of modifying our websites it may become necessary to revise or update our data protection notice.  We reserve the right to modify or change the data protection notice at any time and therefore we recommend that you periodically re-read the current data protection notice for any eventual updates regarding this matter.
